Signature Wines first introduced the Stobi Winery; from the Republic of Macedonia, to the UK during 2013. The response from industry experts was extremely positive, with many commenting on the quality of the wines and their value for money.The Republic of Macedonia is at the heart of the Eastern Mediterranean; a region which provides ideal conditions to grow international varieties like Syrah Barrique, Petit Verdot Barrique, Chardonnay and Muscat Ottonel, all available in the Stobi collection for the UK.
The Republic of Macedonia is at the heart of the Eastern Mediterranean; a region which provides ideal conditions to grow international varieties like Syrah Barrique, Petit Verdot Barrique, Chardonnay and Muscat Ottonel, all available in the Stobi collection for the UK. There are over 20 different grape varieties grown in the main wine producing region of Tikveš (pronounced Tik-vesh) many of which are indigenous. This year, we are showing the new vintage 2013 whites, along with our already established range of red wines. We are offering a broad range of wines to the UK market, leading with two indigenous varietals, the King of the Macedonian reds, Vranec, and the characterful white Žilavka. We also introduced the Stobi Cuvée, with is a fresh and fruity blend of R’kaciteli, Žilavka, and Župljanka (Pronounced R-Ka-ci-teli, Zii-lav-ka and Zuup – jan-ka).
