The newspaper said “A gem from Macedonia, one of the emerging Eastern European producers and great value for a big wine. Made with local Vranec grapes, this is dense and dark, with tastes of bramble and plum. Great with red meat dishes.”We received equally high praise from Scotland on Sunday, who said “Stobi’s 2011 Vranec is inky

The Independent featured our Stobi Vranec Classic, currently on offer at Wine Rack for an amazing £8.99 (down from £9.99 until June 23rd). The newspaper said “A gem from Macedonia, one of the emerging Eastern European producers and great value for a big wine. Made with local Vranec grapes, this is dense and dark, with tastes of bramble and plum. Great with red meat dishes.”We received equally high praise from Scotland on Sunday, who said “Stobi’s 2011 Vranec is inky dark in colour and gives off chocolate aromas. On the tongue, there are complex flavours of brambles, liquorice, mint and mocha. This is an intense wine.”
“Its big brother – the 2011 Stobi Vranec Veritas Reserve – takes the local Vranec red grape and ages the wine in Slavonian oak for 20 months to create a wine that’s very dark in colour and produces straw aromas. It is rich and smooth, with concentrated flavours of coffee, liquorice and mint, with a touch of vanilla from oak barrels. There is more tannin here, but nicely in balance with the wine’s acidity. “ If you want to stock Stobi wines in your store, simply call Signature Wines on 0845 370 2255 or email us direct.
