We’re now in the final Action Week of March for the Independents, the campaign to support and promote independent wine merchants created by trade magazine Harpers. Following on from weeks exploring topics such as getting your local media on side, getting the most out of your suppliers and getting on top of your business, this final week looks at the important issue of what you should be buying and selling. Head over to the Harpers website to take part in this week, and to catch up on everything that’s happened in the previous three. This week, you’ll be able to access reports that highlight the key wine and spirits trends of the last twelve months, including exclusive extracts from consumer research that usually costs £1,250 to purchase. As well as reading up on important facts and predictions for the coming year, you can also share your thoughts and experiences with Harpers and other participants. Once you’ve absorbed all the useful information from the website you’ll be ready for next week’s conference in London on March 3rd, at which you can network with your peers, attend informative lectures and join in the debate. Best of all, it’s free! Lecture topics include the latest off-trade trends, how to get the most from your suppliers, how to maximise bonding opportunities and innovation in wine business. Speakers are from independent wine merchants, as well as experts in the field, and include Tim Wilson, Justin Howard-Sneyd and Muriel Chatel.
This promises to be a fantastic opportunity for independent wine merchants to come together and celebrate their strengths while learning tips that will help them meet the challenges ahead.
As a dedicated fine wine supplier to the independent wine trade, Signature Wines is in awe of the dedication and passion shown by all the independent merchants we work with, and think that Harpers’ initiative is a great way of giving you the recognition you deserve.
