Good News - Over a Quarter of Wine Drinkers Would Pay More than £10 per Bottle

A recent Mintel survey has found that 28% of wine drinkers would spend more than £10 on a bottle of wine, and a further 7% would spend more than £20.
The CBI has released the findings of their latest Service Sector Survey, which covers leisure and lifestyle businesses such as bars, restaurants, hotels and travel-related companies.

Established to celebrate and reward success within the wine industry, the annual Decanter Retailer of the Year Award ceremony took place this year at the Connaught hotel in London.
After a challenging 2014, Eastern European winemakers are rejoicing at this year’s harvest, which has proved to be much better than expected.
That’s according to Rabobank’s latest Wine Quarterly report, which has highlighted the vital importance of online platforms for wine sales. In fact, online wine sales are expected to grow by around 12% every year, which is a truly astonishing figure.
The Stobi Winery have taken great care to appoint the best in the business when it comes to selecting their wine makers.

Stobi was delighted to attend both Manchester and London SITT events this year. Taking their place at the ERT (Emerging Regions Tasting) zone alongside wineries from Croatia, Hungary, Transylvania and Japan (to name a few) Stobi commented “SITT is really one of the best exhibitions for the presentation of wines from new regions.”
It’s a contentious issue in some circles but one that’s not going away – in fact mandatory calorie labelling on all alcoholic drinks just got one step closer.
