New Stobi Wines Coming Soon

We’re excited to announce that we will soon be offering a brand new range of Stobi wines, which will delight new and existing customers alike.
Despite a hard year in the vineyards, the Stobi Winery team have pulled together to produce some marvellous 2014 wines that reflect their dedication and craftsmanship.
One of last year’s biggest problems was a low yield, partly caused by rot, which significantly reduced the amount of grapes available. Rather than surrender to bad luck, the Stobi team have made lemonade from lemons (well, technically speaking wine from grapes…) and focused on making high quality wines that highlight the qualities of what was available. Furthermore, reflecting the strength of their relationship with us and their respect for the UK market, they have guaranteed the supply of these new wines, meaning that UK customers are certain to have a delicious and refreshing taste of Macedonia this summer.
The first new wine is an exciting new take on the existing Stobi Cuvée. Blending R’kaciteli, Župljanka and Chardonnay grapes, the wine still has a unique Macedonian taste and now takes on a new level of freshness, accompanied by just a hint of honey. The second and third wines, meanwhile, are single blend Muscat Ottonel and Žilavka vintages, which are also fresher than the 2013 versions. The skill of the winemakers is evident in both these wines, which really show off the best of these two grapes. In particular, the extra freshness really brings out the unique flavours in the Žilavka, which has exciting tones of citrus and white peach with a peppery finish. We think you’ll also be intrigued by this year’s Stobi’s reds, which are lighter than in previous years and bear a delicious similarity to Beaujolais.
Although we think you’ll be delighted by the 2014 offering from Stobi, and would invite you to sample these at your earliest convenience, we also have to inform you that the vineyard’s classic Chardonnay and Barrique wines were not produced this year. Once our current stocks are gone, therefore, there won’t be another chance to obtain these wines in the UK. If your customers have grown fond of these delicious Macedonian wines, stock up now to prevent disappointment!
