Signature Wines are extremely proud to have become official sponsors of Drinkaware, the UK charity that seeks to reduce alcohol misuse and minimise alcohol-related harm.
Signature Wines are extremely proud to have become official sponsors of Drinkaware, the UK charity that seeks to reduce alcohol misuse and minimise alcohol-related harm. Supported by the government, Drinkaware are brilliant at bringing evidenced-based research about alcohol, and the dangers of misusing it, to the public's attention. They are able to do this thanks to funding from major retailers, pub companies and producers who collectively pledge £5million per year to help deliver alcohol awareness. Sponsors include some of the biggest names in the drinks industry, including Diageo Great Britain Ltd, Moet Hennessy UK Ltd, Shepherd Neame Ltd and J D Wetherspoon plc.
We are pleased to have joined the ranks of Drinkaware sponsors and to be making a contribution towards ensuring that everyone enjoys their drinks in a safe, responsible manner. We're passionate about the range of wines we offer, and hope that everyone will savour their taste and share them with friends and loved ones on special occasions. With wines so delicious we know it can sometimes be hard to resist that one extra glass, so we're putting the Drinkaware logo on our bottles as a gentle reminder to drink responsibly. Next time you pick up a bottle of Stobi, you'll see the logo and know that we're doing our bit to make sure the UK can enjoy wine in the way it was intended.
Why is raising awareness of these issues so important to us? In the short term, excessive alcohol consumption can result in mood swings, accidents and, in the worst case scenario, a fatal overdose. In the longer term, alcohol abuse can cause serious medical conditions, such as liver disease, which lead to premature death. What's more, it's easier to binge drink than you might think: binge drinking is defined as drinking more than 8 units of alcohol in one session if you're a man, and just 6 if you're a woman - that's the equivalent of two large glasses of wine. We hope that by sponsoring Drinkaware we can provide our customers will all the information they need to enjoy our wines responsibly, and ensure that every night with Stobi stays special.
