Stobi Winery Celebrate St.Trufin’s Day

Every year on February 14th the Stobi Winery celebrates St.Trufin’s Day. St.Trufin is the patron saint of wine and vineyards and on this religious holiday Stobi officially starts the pruning of the vineyards.
The Priest, pictured below, blesses the body (bread) and blood (vine) of Jesus as a symbol of the religious ceremony and prays to St. Trifun is to protect the vineyards from natural disasters and diseases that can occur during the year. Nikola Derebanov, General Manager is seen in the above picture cutting the vines. He then takes and pours wine into the cutting to ensure Stobi has a good yield and high quality harvest. [nggallery id=20] Pictured in the photographs are numerous VIP guests that represent many public officials of the state. Among them are the "Vine Knights". Wearing their wear medals these vine nights are genuine lovers of excellent wine and come from various professions including prominent artists and Ambassadors. The prominent guests come to celebrate and enjoy the excellent wine, food and music. The festive mood lasts all day and everyone is welcome to pop in to the winery to taste the wine.
