Stobi wines from Macedonia in the heart of the Eastern Mediterranean, is gaining popularity in the UK, not only on the shelves of independent wines stores and wine chains, but also in the media.
We were delighted with the coverage received in The Vine, a local magazine in North Leicestershire that aims to help bring local communities together who reviewed Stobi in their article ‘Wines from Macedonia: Something Different’.
Trevor Langley, who tasted and reviewed the wines, said “the Stobi Cuvée I found to be an excellent dry white wine, with a good bouquet of fruits. Produced using Zhilavka, Zhupljanka, Riesling, Chardonnay and Muscat Ottonel grapes, harvested from their own vineyards, this wine is both fresh and full on the palate and has a prolonged finish, pairing wonderfully with white meats, fish and seafood.” Stobi’s new range of white wines has recently arrived in the UK to complement our popular range of red wines. From Stobi’s red wine collection Trevor said, “Stobi, Syrah Barrique, I rate as a superb red. Aged in French and American oak, and again made with grapes from their own vineyards (100% Syrah), this is another very popular production. Fruit sensations in the bouquet lead enticingly to an impressive mouth feel, which is elegant, with more fruits displayed. This ruby red wine accompanies beef and many other meat dishes, perfectly.” Trevor summarised by saying, “Some other impressive wines from the Stobi Winery include Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Petit Verdot and Vranec. I am most pleased to have located Stobi Winery – a producer that has their wines available in the UK. Outstanding wines, with controlled origin.” For details of all Stobi’s wines and current availability please contact us on 0845 370 2255 or contact us here.
